A movie poster redesign from the hit film directed by Sofia Coppola, The Virgin Suicides. A story about an American Catholic family living in Grosse Pointe, Michigan in the 70's. The story takes a quick turn of events when the youngest sister of 5 commits suicide during their chaperoned party. This causes their mother to grow more and more strict with her 4 remaining daughters. The current movie poster doesn't quite reflect any emotion depicted in the film which I felt was a missed opportunity. It's because of the mother's obsessive and restrictive nature that pushes the girls to rebel (spoiler alert) and ultimately take their own lives. That suffocating emotion felt throughout the movie is what I wanted to reflect in my version of the poster.
